It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Patricia on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Grey Bruce Health Services, Markdale in her 90th year. Beloved mother of Kathleen(Pierre) Papineau of Southampton, Don(Connie) Lavender of Markdale, Sharon Lavender of Mississauga, Bob(Ellen) Lavender of Feversham and Sylvia Lavender of Toronto. Cherished grandmother of Mitch Papineau, Dan(Dionne) Papineau, Joey(Nicole) Papineau, Cody(Sabrina) Lavender, Joshua Lavender, Sherisse Lavender, Alisha(Mack) Lavender, Brian(Brandy) Lavender and great grandmother of Dominique, Darcey, William, Charlotte and Olivia. Predeceased by her husband Vincent(1973), son Gerry(1994) and infant daughter Helen. Survived by sisters Marie Brennan and Lucille(Bert) Leroux, sister in-law Therese Mailloux, sister in-law Gladys Lahey, brother in-law Larry(Jackie) Lavender, many nieces and nephews.
Patricia was born March 17, 1929 in Staples, Ontario to J. Lucien and Honora Mailloux. One day her father loaded up the family, 9 out of 10 kids, and moved the family up to Massy, Ontario. Pat met and married the love of her life, Vincent, Sept 4th 1953. In 1958 they settled into Flesherton where they raised their loving family and made many life long friends. After the death of her husband, Pat provided child care for many families in the community. She had a love for gardening and feeding the birds, a good game of cards and of course time with her family, this was everything to her.
The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception, Flesherton, on Wednesday, January 9 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00pm. Mass of Christian burial on Thursday from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Markdale at 1:00pm. Spring interment at St. John's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Glenelg. Memorial contributions to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.
