After a lengthy illness, at home in Flesherton on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Reta. Loving father of Bonnie(Ben) Palbiski of Orangeville, Don(Marjorie) Thompson of Orangeville, Brenda(the late Bruce) Hanna of Orangeville, Betty-Ann(Alan) Fawcett of Markdale and Thomas(Cindy) Thompson of Durham. Bob will be greatly missed by his extended family Garry(Anne) Peterson, Cathy(Gary) Plantt, Dale(Stacey) Peterson, Kim(Mark) Reimer the late Cindy Peterson. Grandfather of 16 and great grandfather of 9. Survived by sister in-law Devona. Predeceased by 1 grandson, brothers Ken, Herb, Francis, Bill, and sisters Gertrude Younge, Mary Demeirs, Marg Davis and Jean.

Bob was born May 7, 1930 to George and Mary Thompson in Euphrasia Township. He attended school at Rosedale and helped on the farm throughout his childhood. At a young age he started his own high hoe business before moving onto work for the Ministry of Transportation. He met and married the love of his life, Reta, on July 13, 1981 and they retired to Meaford in 1989. 1993 brought them back to southgate where they spent their time travelling, camping and built and remodelled 5 homes in the area. He will be remembered for his kind disposition, his smile and of course his dancing. His family will miss him very much, especially at family dinners and functions.

The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception Ltd (1 Highland Drive, Flesherton) on Saturday, March 9 from 7-9pm and again on Sunday from 1-2pm.
