Obituary for Florence Elizabeth Pink (Douglas)

Pink; Florence Elizabeth(nee Douglas)

After a strong and courageous battle, Florence passed peacefully at her home in Proton Station surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in her 59th year. Beloved wife of 39 years to Darrell Pink. Loving mother to Jason(Terri St. Amour) of Kanata, Christopher(Mallory) of Midhurst and Vanessa(Nathan) Bast of Flesherton. She was the proud grandmother of Taylor, Delia, Madison, Jace, Trent and Easton. Dear sister of Ann(Murray) Kerr of Meaford. She will be lovingly remembered by Wayne and Marilyn Pink of Meaford.

Florence was born November 7, 1960 to James and Ruth Douglas at Meaford General Hospital. She grew up in that area and attended school, earning her OSSD from Meafod High School, before graduating from Georgian College with her diploma in nursing. Her and Darrell had their three beautiful children in Rocklynn before moving to Proton Station where they continued raising them. Much time was spent reading and socialising and was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Grey Chapter #170. Florence learned she had cancer in 1994, but was not going to let that slow her down and she fought with all of her strength and continued to when the cancer returned in 2011, until she couldn't fight any longer.

A celebration of Florence's life will take place at the Flesherton Kinplex(102 Highland Drive Flesherton) on Saturday, April 20 at 1:00pm. Sisters and brothers of the Order of the Eastern Star, Grey Chapter and brethren of the Masonic Lodge, Prince Arthur Lodge #333 are called to assemble on Saturday at 11:00am at the Prince Arthur Lodge for a Chapter Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Owen Sound Oncology Unit would be gratefully appreciated. Online donations and condolences at www.fawcettfuneralhome.ca 888-924-2810
