Obituary for Donald Arthur Bullock

Bullock; Donald Arthur

At his home, Grey Gables Nursing Home in Markdale, on Friday, August 2, 2019 formerly of Priceville in his 81st year. He leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 60 years Wendie(nee O'Connor) of Flesherton. Loving father of Marilyn(Rob) Kools of Cambridge, Jim(Maria) of Park Head, Laura Phillips(Dennis Muir) of Cambridge, Donna(Steve) Kools of Cambridge and Carol(Garry) Armstrong of Owen Sound. He will be loved and remembered by his grandchildren Eric(Jere), Nathan(Meghan), Ryan, Hannah, Melissa(Matt), Calvin, Vanessa(Jeff), Andy(Jannelle), Megan, Danny, Cody, Dakota, Logan, Dillan, Morgan and his great grandchildren Leven, Nash, Everest, Evan, Roselynn, Rielly and Easton. Predeceased by his sister Laura Bullock.

Don was born in Cambridge on November 13, 1938 to Arthur and Ola Bullock. He was raised there and found his first career at Preston Metal and Roofing. He also found his soul mate Wendie whom he married on August 8, 1959. They raised their children in that area but found a piece of their own paradise in Priceville, Ontario. They purchased the Priceville General Store in 1986 and ran until 2006. Unfortunately for Don, following his heath issues, he had to move to Grey Gables in 2002 and Wendie ran the store herself. Prior to his health concerns he enjoyed being outdoors; hunting and fishing, gardening and enjoying the sunshine. After these things became too difficult he found joy in watching his tomato plants grow, known as the "Tomato Man" at Grey Gables, playing cards, watching the horse races and sitting in the sun. He will be greatly missed by his Grey Gables Family. The family will always cherish the 60th wedding anniversary party they held last Sunday.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 2pm at Gentle Shepherd Community Church (426176 Concession Rd 8, Flesherton). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Grey Gables Activity Fund or the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
