Obituary for Debra Jane "Debbie" Nicholson (Seury)
In loving memory of our precious Debra Jane Nicholson
October 14, 1958 – August 23, 2019
Debbie passed away at the age of 60, at the Owen Sound Hospital, after a long 9 year battle with numerous health issues.
She was born in Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to father Fred, and mother Ida Seury, whom are predeceased, as well as her infant sister Mary.
She will be sadly missed by her best friend and husband, Charlie Nicholson, as well as by her children, many grandchildren and sisters. She will be missed by her loving 9 year companion, Kemo, her german shepherd who never left her side.
She moved from Cape Breton to the Kingston area at a young age. She later moved to the Markdale/Durham area to work as a PSW at many Grey County home for 25+ years.
Debbie loved; watching hummingbirds, butterflies, spending time with her backyard animals, sitting on the beach in the sunshine, gardening, spending time at markets, reading books as well as knitting. She loved the days when she was able to eat at the Mandarin restaurant and Duffy’s Fish and Chips in Southampton. She liked driving fast with all the windows down and the music loud. She would sit on the hood of the car on a dark, on a quiet backroad and watch the fireflies twinkle in the night. But more than anything, she loved taking care of everyone and always being there for her family.

A come and go celebration of Deb’s life will take place at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception(1 Highland Drive, Flesherton) on Saturday, August 31 from 2:00-5:00pm. Memories and songs will be shared at 3:00pm. There will be no family receiving line and please dress comfortably. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.
