Blanchard; Joseph Luc

Peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Grey Bruce Health Services, Markdale, of Flesherton in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Mary for 51 years. Loving father to Rodney(Pam) of Barrie and Steven(Charmaine) of Flesherton. Adoring grandfather to Troy. Luc was a simple man who saw great joy in the small things. He was a hardworking family man who never asked for anything, always putting others ahead of himself. He loved the holidays; taking long drives, spending time with family and friends, and loved his time at home. A heavy equipment operator and a farmer all his life; he worked and lived on the Blanchard farm outside of Flesherton for many years. His primary joy was always with family, his wife, his two sons and cherished every moment with his grandson - they were everything to him.

Luc and his family will be forever grateful to; the Oncology Unit at Owen Sound Hospital, Dr. Whittle, Dr. Anjum, Dr. Becks, NP Anne Becks, every VON nurse, and to all the friends and family members who made it possible for him to stay at home until the end. Special Thanks to the Grey County Paramedics and all of the staff at Markdale hospital.

The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception (1 Highland Drive, Flesherton) on Thursday, December 5 from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Markdale on Friday at 11am. Interment Shiloh Cemetery at a later date.
