Obituary for Kenneth Charles Walduck

Kenneth Charles Walduck died peacefully on February 28, 2020 in the Markdale Hospital. He was 86.

Ken was born in Liverpool, England then his family moved to Ainsdale in 1951 where he met and married the “love of his life”, Nancy Edith Morris. They had one child, Jane Claire. In 1957, the small family immigrated to Toronto, Canada where Ken worked for the Royal Insurance Company. During the course of his career his promotions led the family to live in North Bay, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia finally ending up back in Toronto at head office until he retired as a Senior Vice-President of Royal Sun Alliance.

Ken enjoyed golf, biking and was an executive member of the 48th Highlanders.

When Nancy passed away in 2015, Ken moved to Markdale to be close to Jane and her family.

Ken is survived by his daughter, Jane Field (Craig Matta), sisters Gillian and Rikki, Grandson Zachariah, cousins Joan (Peter-deceased) Phillips and Ray (Olive) Walduck and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and brother, Colin.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. Donations in Ken’s name to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
We would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Markdale Day-Away program, his P.S.W., Judy, Dr. Brian Power and the staff at Markdale hospital for their end of life care. “Dileas Gu Brath”
