Obituary for Lyle James Seeley

Seeley; Lyle James

Peacefully at his home near Maxwell on Monday, April 13, 2020 just short of his 66th birthday. Loving son of the late Leslie and Olive. Dear brother of Larry (Joan) Seeley of Lakefield, Laurel-Anne Seeley of Oakville and Lindsay (the late Carol) Seeley of Brantford. Loved and remembered as uncle to Wanda, Steven (Debbie), Kevin (Kimberly), Quentin (Carol), Adam (Megan), Rodger (Leslie), Angelle (Paul) and Paul.
Sadly missed by great nieces and nephews, Tymber, Kurtis, Kyle, Katelynn, Ben, Laura, Dawson, Tessah, Tyler, Mathew, Turner, Kali, Rhett and Declan. He had yet to meet his brand new great-great niece, Tayah-Lynn.

Lyle’s career was in the Armed Forces of Canada. He was a specialist involved with electronics on airplanes and ships. He spent a great deal of time stationed in Nova Scotia, Germany and Base Borden. He was known as “Huggy Bear” to his many friends all around the world. His greatest loves were his family, the Ottawa Senators, Blue Jays and his computer. His great sense of humour, quick wit and gift of laughter endeared him to many.

The many stories he would tell of his adventures and misadventures was always entertaining and, in fact, one job he was involved with was the equipment manager of the OOM PA PA band in Germany. He did not play an instrument but always was at the ready when the party started!

He will be laid to rest with family at the Maxwell Cemetery. A celebration of life will take place later in the year. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Flesherton/Markdale Legion, Branch 333 would be gratefully appreciated. Online donations and condolences at www.fawcettfuneralhome.ca 888-924-2810.
