Duane Watson Smith, 43 years old, passed away in his sleep at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday June 7th 2020.

Duane was born is Allison Ontario February 13 1977, and he lived in Markdale for most of his life. Duane loved it so much he never seen a reason to go on vacation.
Duane worked at Stevens Restaurant in Markdale. He always considered his time there fun, “hanging out with my friends”. Duane often called them his “second family”.
Duane was a basketball prodigy, modeling his life after his idol, number 23, Michael Jordan. More then just the way he dressed, red and black, he never gave up, was always in competition with himself and others, and always enjoyed leaning new things. Duane was fascinated with space and the universe, he would talk at length about anything interesting. Always pushing his team to be better, but always content with “it is what it is”. There truly was Duane Smith, and everyone else. Smart, professional, and an asset to any team.
Duane was fun loving and easily pleased, content with a day of work, a decent tv show, rip around in his V8 Lincoln or just have a cold beer and doing some landscaping.
