Obituary for Robert Allan "Bob" Sinclair

Bob passed away at home peacefully and with cancer after a heroic six year fight. During his last days he was never alone and was comforted with the care, love and affection of his beloved wife Linda (Sutter) of 57 years. Loving father of Curt (Robin) and Robert (Kim). Cherished “papa/grandpa” to Meghan, Courtney(Cory), Cody and Brett. He was predeceased by his parents Blake (1992) and Aileen (2008) and brother’s Murray(2019) and Bill (2008). Bob is survived by brothers Bruce (Marlene) , Mac((Kim), sister Betty Lou Wark and sister in law Marlene MacDonald (Murray). He will be sadly missed by the Sutter family brother and sister in Laws as well as a large number of nieces and nephews.

Bob was born and raised in Tara, ON. In 1973 Bob and Linda and their two boys made the permanent move from Georgetown to their cottage at Eugenia Lake. This move was prompted by the business start-up S&S Building Supplies in Flesherton, ON that year by Bob and his brother in law Jim Sutter. The business flourished over the years with many of the areas cottages and new homes constructed in that era built with S&S products. Bob continued with the business until his retirement in 2000 and then the eventual selling of the business in 2015 after 42 years. Bob was know as a quiet and humble man who always enjoyed the visits and times of laughter with his friends and family. He was always keen for a good game of euchre, cribbage or rummikub with those who visited. His love of baseball and in his later years curling, became a staple passion. He enjoyed following the Canadian teams and tournaments and had a remarkable memory of details and events.

Bob and Linda oversaw with much sweat and labour the construction of their current home where they moved to in 2005.. Bob could always be found with a project in hand or working alongside Linda in their yard and gardens. In retirement much of Bob’s time also revolved around helping others with their building renovations or repair work. The results of his efforts have been appreciated by many, but particularly his siblings and family members who were benefactors of his labours. .
