Turner; James William

With great sorrow and family by his side at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in his 78th year of Corbetton. Beloved husband of Shirley. Loving father of Cindy(Ron) Jackson of Flesherton, Jim(Joanne) of Corbetton, Cheryl(Clay) Blakey of Elmira. Proud grandpa to Nicki(Derek), Shannon(Mike), Tracy(Jackson), Tyler and Tiffany. Greatly missed by great grandchildren Emma, Reese, Mikayla and Jackson. Jim is remembered by his siblings Joyce(the late Morley) Mills, Gordon(Lorna), Barb(the late Bill) Finch, sister in law Marion Turner as well as Shirley's brothers Carl(Veronica) Smith and Harold(Cindy) Smith and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Gordon and Alberta, brother Tom and great granddaughter Skylar.
A well known mechanic and operator of Turner's Garage since 1968, Jim was a family man, always making time for his family, especially his grandkids. He loved country music, a good meal and John Wayne. He really loved to laugh and had a great sense of humour.
The family will receive friends at Gentle Shepherd Community Church on Monday, December 7, 2020 from noon until the time of service at 1:00pm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, RSVP is required. Donations to the Dundalk Fire Department, Gentle Shepherd Community Church or Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Jim was one of the first people I met when I moved to Melancthon. He was always willing to help you out in a pinch and was always happy to chat for a while and share a laugh. Jim was a solid stand up type of guy and our community is a bit less without him.
