Peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Monday, January 18, 2021 in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Susan Bint of Annan. Loving father of Richard (Gail), Ryan (Amanda). Beloved step father to Brian Deakin (Jody) and Janice Tull (Randy). Richard is greatly missed by grandchildren Jacob Deakin, Erin French, Sam French, Ben French, Arden Simth, Izabell Bint and Elijah Bint. Loved and remembered by siblings Lynda Bint, Eric Bint (Colleen), Karen Perris (Noel), Glen Bint (Laurie), Kenny Jacobs (Kim) and Lisa Jacobs, sister-in-law Charmaine Peever (Cheryl) Aunt Roberta Ritchey (Carl) Special memories for Nieces Lauren Jacobs and Kendra Jacobs
He was proud of his ability to "McGyver" repairs. He loved watching Nascar, riding his lawn tractor and vehicles in general. He enjoyed making jokes and could be counted on for "smart ass" remark, what ever the occasion. Richard was a fighter and a survivor. In 2020, to overcome his 4th bout of cancer, he underwent multiple surgeries and radiation. In the end he was cancer free but his body could take no more.
Cremation has taken place. Covid permitting - a memorial gathering will be held in the summer.
