Obituary for Kenneth Gary Watson

Watson; Kenneth Gary

Peacefully, with family by his side at Grey Bruce Health Services, Markdale, on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, in his 65th year of Williams Lake, formerly of Priceville. Beloved husband of Catherine Patricia Watson nee MacNeill. Dear father of Meghan Bell Watson (Mathieu Blais) of St. Pascal, Kenneth Neil (Jennifer) of Orangeville, Robert Scott of Guelph, and Kirk William (Laura MacDuff) of Markdale. Cherished grandfather of Callia, Caleb and Maya Blais and Cora and Violet Watson. Greatly missed by sister Marilyn Ellis (Bill Peter) and brother Larry Watson (Nancy), sister-in- laws Jean Watson (Leo Cooney) and Tyna Watson. Loved and remembered by mother-in-law Patricia MacNeill-Baker, brother-in-law Hugh MacNeill as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ken is predeceased by parents Melville and Elizabeth Watson, brothers William and Beverley Watson, father-in-law Kenneth MacNeill, brother-in-law Milton Ellis, sister-in-law Eileen Watson, niece Dana Watson and step-father-in-law Alex Baker.

Ken was a loving husband, proud father and grandpa who loved spending time with family and friends over good food, drink, music and a lot of laughter. As well as being a hard and passionate worker on the family farm, Ken had 36 years of service with Bell Canada. His love for the community and sports led him to serve as a director on the Markdale Minor Hockey Board along with coaching minor hockey for many years. He loved baseball and spent many seasons playing for the Priceville Flyers and London Tigers. Aside from spending time with family and friends, Ken loved being outdoors on the farm and later gardening at Williams Lake.

The family would like to thank Ken’s caregivers, family, friends and colleagues who have helped him and us through these last 4 difficult years. Particularly a huge heartfelt thank you to Dr. Brian Power for his compassionate and unwavering care and to the amazing staff at the Markdale Hopsital. Thank you to the VON nurses, Care Partners, other LIHN partners, the Community Stroke Team, paramedics and the Owen Sound Hospital.
