Obituary for Harold William Parker

Parker; Harold William

Passed away at home in Markdale on Thursday, February 17, 2022, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of Shirley for over 69 years. Loving father of David (Diane Morrison) of Salem, Susan of Markdale, Kevin (Carolyn) of Feversham, Donna (Kevin) Shanahan of Dunsford, and Brian of Chatsworth. Much loved grandfather of Kurt (Anna), Kyle (Corinne), Cole (Jess), Bradley (Paige), Tara (Jason), Monica (Jordan), Matthew (Kaehly), Michelle, Cailtin (Ryan) and Jade. Great Grandfather of Audrina, Triton, Kendall, James, Thomas, Declan, Paisley, River, and Damien. Harold is predeceased by parents Emerson and Bernice Parker and sisters Helen and Joan. He is fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and extended family.

Harold was born and raised in rural Feversham. He married the love of his life Shirley Sharpe in June 1952. He spent the first years of their marriage sailing. Later in life he also had a bread route, sold Real Estate and worked on construction. Harold and Shirley lived on a hobby farm for approximately 20 years. If you asked a hundred people who Harold Parker was, you would get a hundred different responses. He was a hunter, a jokester, a bowler, a baseball lover, a gardener and a storyteller – but to Harold and his loved ones, his biggest role was that of a family man, father, and more adored grandfather and great grandfather.

The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception (1 Highland Drive, Flesherton) on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 1 pm until the time of the service at 3 pm. Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences and tributes available at www.fawcettfuneralhome.ca
