Obituary for Corey Sydney David Sutherland

Sutherland; Corey Sydney David

Peacefully at home on Monday, March 28, 2022 at the age of 23. Much loved son of Trish and Dale (Theresa) of Ajax. Loving brother of Crystal(Chris), Jasmine(Tyler), Courtney and Cameron. Grandson of Earl and Shirley Sutherland and great grandson of Rita. Outstanding Uncle to Madison, Jackson, Jameson. Loved and remembered by girlfriend Britney. Fondly remembered by Uncle Dana, Aunt Diana, Aunt Debbie and cousins Chris, Victoria and many more. Greatly missed by Doug, Nancy, Nicole, Chad, Kim, Billy, Andy, Genna and Ian.

Our loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. How do you define a person you loved so dearly by words. In fact, it’s better explained by that feeling of love in your heart. By the amount of grief we all feel. Corey was so many things to us. He was a comedian, an artist, rapper, Rastafarian at heart, a literal clown in his Juggalo days. You could always count on Corey to say what was on his mind, no matter how inappropriate it may be. He could be your best friend, or at times your worst enemy. Most importantly he was a pure and gentle soul. The closest thing to what we knew to the meaning of life.

Corey’s smile, contagious laugh and quick wit always filled the room, and our hearts. His love for knowledge and intellect made him wise beyond his years. He was always the life of the party.

Corey’s absolute love of music, art, and nature ran deep. His goals and passions motivated and inspired those around him to dream big and work hard. The strength and courage he carried through his life will forever be kept in our hearts. May it be our strength now. To continue forward, and live every single moment to its fullest.

Corey had so much love for his family and friends, as we did for him. He was truly one of a kind. The loss we feel could never be expressed by words. Our family is forever changed. We will all continue to celebrate the life of Corey, the way he would want us to. Whether you hear that song, take that toke, go for that hike, or chase after your dreams, hold his memory close to you. Corey will never truly leave us, as his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who loved him so very much.

Corey, we know you are watching over us. With those bright blue eyes and that smile we will miss so much. As you would so often say “that’s the way she goes, boys”. We love you Corey, always and forever.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will happen at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association. Donation, tributes and condolences can be found at www.fawcettfuneralhome.ca
