Peacefully at her home, she was called by her Lord and Saviour, on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the age of 91 years. She is reunited with her late husband John(1993). Loving mother of Thelma(Donald) Colgan of Durham, Bruce of Portlaw, Maisie, May, Leonard(Lisa Colburne) all of Singhampton and the late Peter Gordon(2018). Cherished grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 14. Dear sister of Richard(Carol) Marsden, Jim(Shirley) Marsden, Bob Marsden and Wilma Smith and predeceased by 8 siblings. She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Olive was born November 25, 1930 to Harry and Lela Marsden. She was raised as one of 13 children, and she worked hard. She met and married the love of her life, John, and together they raised their 6 beautiful children. They taught them to work hard on the farm, milking all the cows by hand! She and John ran the sawmill, picked apples and enjoyed their family. While it is such a great loss to our community, Olive knew exactly where she was going, and for that we are thankful.
The family will receive friends at the Flesherton Kinplex on Monday, August 1, 2022 from 9:30am until the time of service at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at the Ebenezer Missionary Church Cemetery. In memory of Olive, memorial contributions to the Diabetes Association, Dementia Association or the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
