With his loving wife by his side, passed peacefully at Grey Gables Nursing Home, Markdale on Thursday, October 6, 2022 in his 87th year. Beloved husband and honey-pie of Laurie Ann(nee Jones). Loving father of Grant(Kat) of Hepworth, Scott of Hamilton, Lorrie Anne of Hepworth and the late Albert Milne Jr. and Jason Linton. Dear step-father of Jeffrey Summers of Owen Sound and Frankie Milne. Cherished grandfather of Amber, Gauge, Grant Jr., Kenny, Darrian, Drexton, Eve, Summer, Autumn, Jason Jr. and Chris. Missed by his mother in-law Shirley Jones of Flesherton and daughter in-law Jen Albert. Predeceased by his parents Frederick and Alice Milne and daughter in-law Melissa Milne. Survived by his sisters Olive and Eva.
A special thank you to the staff at Grey Gables who became an extended portion of Big Red’s family.
Big Red was well known for his time in the boxing ring; sparing with George Shiavell. He spent many years working in the family business of paving driveways, he was a farm owner throughout Grey and Dufferin counties and he had a real passion for his many bike clubs. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends, as socializing was one of his favourite past times. He loved to have a good time.
The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception on Tuesday, October 11, from 1:00 until the time of service at 2:00pm. Cremation to follow with interment at Park Lawn Cemetery, Toronto. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer society would be gratefully appreciated.
