Obituary for Philip Harold Stubley

Philip Harold Stubley - August 2, 1932 – October 24, 2022

Phil Stubley, of Port Elgin, Ontario passed away peacefully at age 90. He was pre-deceased by Gwen, his adored wife of 63 years, and by his loved older siblings, Dalton, Jean, and David Stubley, and by his cherished granddaughter, Georgia. Phil was Dad to Michael (Heather) Stubley of Cochrane, Alberta, and Colleen (Mark) Langridge of Port Elgin, Ontario. Phil was the proud Grandpa of Nicole (Richard) and Samantha (Edis), James, Craig (Tina), Laura (Edward), Emily, Graham, and Eric. Phil had five great-grandsons, and many extended family members who were very important to him.

Phil and Gwen both grew up in Orillia, Ontario, and after they married, lived in Deep River, Clarkson, Burlington, and Port Elgin. They enjoyed travel together, and spent some time in Romania for Phil’s work. Phil had a rewarding career with AECL as a mechanical engineer.

Phil was a friendly, generous and caring man. He valued his many lasting friendships from work, skiing, and building and flying his own airplane. He treated his grandchildren to long Monopoly games, crazy dives in the pool, and campfires at the cottage beach.

If desired, messages, and/or donations in memory of Phil may be arranged through Fawcett Funeral Home in Flesherton, Ontario at www.fawcettfuneralhome.ca. Cremation has taken place.
