Obituary for John Edward McTague

McTague; John Edward

Of Markdale, peacefully at his home, on Saturday, December 31, 2022 in his 60th year. Beloved partner of Joan Massaro. Loving brother to Jim (Karen) Graham, Sharon (Fred) Balheim, Betty (the late Hugo) Dittfach and Joanne McTague. Will be sadly missed by sister-in-law, Frances Massaro and brother-in-law Richard Guibault and their children, Mitchell and Alexander. Will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by parents Edna and Frank McTague.

John was an avid downhill skier and billiard player. He loved his motorcycle as well as his many dogs.

There will be no viewing, reception or service. John will be cremated and his urn will be interred at Highland Memory Gardens in North York. Please mourn John individually, within his many groups of friends and within his family members. I choose to mourn and honour him in private. Thank you everyone for being a special part of his life and for being here for both of us during these months of struggle, pain and sadness.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated. Online donations and condolences at www.fawcettfuneralhome.ca 888-924-2810

This body is not me.
I am not limited by this body.
I am life without boundaries.
I have never been born, and I have never died.
Look at the ocean and the sky filled with stars, manifestations from my wondrous true mind.
Since before time, I have been free.
Birth and death are only doors through which we pass, sacred thresholds on our journey.
Birth and death are a game of hide-and-seek.
So laugh with me, hold my hand, let us say goodbye, say goodbye, to meet again soon.
We meet today, We will meet again tomorrow.
We will meet at the source every moment.
We meet each other in all forms of life. Prayer recitation excerpted from the "Ceremony for Closing the Coffin" From Chanting From the Heart
