After a long, love filled life, passed at Rockwood Terrace Home for the aged on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the age of 97years with her family around her.
Reunited with her beloved husband of 75 years, the late Clarence(2022). Loving mother of Patricia(Bob) Waller of Burlington , Kevin of Williamsford, Diane(Brian) Smith of Port Elgin, Rob(Joan) of South Bruce Peninsula and Tracey(Steve) Conn of Thornbury.
Cherished grandmother of Ryan Waller (Caleigh) and Timothy Waller( Bethany)of Oakville, Kendra Sullivan (Liam) of Wiarton and Dan Smith(Chantelle Burgess) of Kitchener, Mitchell Conn(Kylie Winters) of Thornbury and Adam Conn (Brianna Blackburn ) of Richmond Hill . Proud great grandmother of Lucas and Rowan Waller. Predeceased by sisters Ruth Carmichael and Ilene Littlejohns and brother Earl Russell and sister-in-law Alma MacKinnon and brother-in-law Jim Hamilton. Dear sister-in-law of John MacKinnon of Flesherton, Garnet Hamilton of Owen Sound, Harold Hamilton of Flesherton and sister in-law Donna Hamilton of Guelph.
Eleanor was born in Wylder, Idaho, USA and was the daughter of the late James(Jim) and Cora(Williams) Russell. At the age of 3 the family returned to Rock Mills, Ontario where they farmed. She remained there till wed in August, 1947 to her husband of 75 years Clarence Hamilton. The couple lived in Flesherton, but then moved to Burlington in the mid 50's where they would raise their 5 children. Eleanor was a devoted mother raising her 5 children while helping alongside Clarence with the family trucking business. She had a passion and talent for cooking and a green thumb to grow huge gardens. She was an active volunteer with the United Church in Burlington and Flesherton. Always donating baking to any function she was called upon, even into her 90's. Upon retirement they decided to return to their roots and moved back to the Flesherton area where they remained in Priceville and Ceylon.
The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception, Flesherton on Friday, May 12 from 12:30 until the time of service at 2:00. Interment Flesherton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Flesherton Pastoral Charge or Centre Grey Health Services Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.
