Passed to our Lord and Saviour at Hanover and District Hospital on Sunday, July 9, 2023 of Markdale in his 96th year. Beloved husband of over 70 years to Marilyn(nee Hall). Loving father of David(Melania) of Markdale, Paul(Cheryl) of Florenceville-Bristol, N.B., Marie and Steven both of Markdale. Cherished grandfather of Kenneth(Lisa), Kevin(Heidi), Shawn(Amanda), Melissa(Evan) Barrett, Samuel, Ben(Lydia) and Hanna. Proud great grandfather of Spencer, Austin, Amber, Laura, James, Brooke, Caleb, Colby, Travis, Lincoln, Maverick and Silas. Dear brother of RoseElla Moore and brother in-law of Carolyn. Predeceased by sister Elsie Found, brother Calvin and daughter-in-law Debbie Coolidge.
George was born to Herman and Florence in Woodville, Ontario on October 7, 1927. He attended school in Woodville before becoming an active member of dairy farming with his father. He met and married the love of his life on August 30, 1952. George loved to work hard with farming, planting fruit trees and gardening. He loved and provided for his family and most importantly, loved God.
The family will receive friends at Rock Mills Baptist Church on Friday, July 14 from 9:30 until the time of service at 11:00am. Private family interment to follow at Markdale Cemetery.
